Lead-free soldering introduces new challenges in maintaining electronic product quality and reliability, and solderability testing is a proven quantitative method to help achieve this requirement.

However, even the smallest traces of lead (Pb) in your test process will compromise the results. In order to avoid any possible lead contamination, but to facilitate the continuing use of your MUST solderability test system, Gen3 Systems offers the "Lead-Free Bath and Globule Set" and "Lead-Free Accessories Kit".

Both are available for conventional tin/lead alloys a well as lead-free.

The Bath & Globule Set comprises a solder bath (and alloy) and 4 globules: 4mm; 3.2mm; 2mm and 1mm plus the solder pellets to run the tests (200mg; 100mg; 25mg and 5mg. For ease of identification, tin-lead items are supplied with blue ends and the lead-free versions in green.

Everything required to conduct solderability testing is Included in the Accessories Kit as well as a CD containing useful information regarding solderability testing, and the excellent NPL Good Practice Guide.

The lead-free alloy supplied is in compliance with the latest IPC and IEC standards revisions: SAC 305: Sn 96.5/Ag 3.0/Cu 0.5 wt %. NB. SAC 387 is also available.
