The InspectoScan First Article, Inspection system is designed by STPE to reduce time on production for new assemblies by automating the first article check that has to be performed, in the past by using the BOM a drawing and the first board assembled.
This process could have taken hours due to the amount of components and the complexity of the board. InspectoScan simplifies this by importing the Placement data/CAD or PDF files for the assembly and scans in an image of the board. By aligning the data to a couple of specific locations the machine will step through each part and allow the operator to confirm the correct value, polarity and placement.
Also allowing for the defining of other defect types. At the end of the cycle a document reporting on the inspection can be printed/PDF.
The system can also create a library of good parts with alternatives and full notes on each part type can be entered.
